We recently deleted a couple of our deviations. The old 'KonoSetsu the 5th' being one of them. We felt it was necessary to uphold our artistic integrity.
On a completely unrelated note, what are you guys' views on using references and on taking inspiration from other people's works?
Inspiration from other work? Couldn't do without it. Copying someone else's art doesn't get you any money, prolly shouldn't post it anywhere, but god does it make you better.
I no longer copy down art, but I take plenty of inspiration, not much direct reference though.

92% of the teen population would be dead if Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister said it wasn't cool to breathe anymore. Put this in your signature if you're one of the 8% who would be watching and laughing.
i agree with what you said about copying making you better. Now, don't get me wrong, it's bad to steal other people's art and call it your own, but... doing it more like an exercise helps cuz it helps you see what how your own work is progressing, and it's useful for helping you hone your skills. Did that make sense?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
